DOLDORA IS A MOVEMENT
Doldora is a lifestyle. It is a support system that is meant to inspire hope. In life, we face difficult situations and decisions almost every day. The best way to guarantee success is to make sure you have the best support system possible.

My goal with this journey is to inspire hope in others. I want everyone to know that regardless where you are in your fitness journey, you have value and worth. And that every body can participate in a triathlon.
My goal is to shine a light into areas of our society that are often overlooked and forgotten.

HOW DOLDORA CAME TO LIFE
Every journey needs support. Doldora was born from a deep need for community, accountability, and belief. What started as a personal mission has grown into a movement powered by people lifting each other up.
LET’S BUILD SOMETHING AUTHENTIC TOGETHER
I have been working with local businesses for the last two years, and I have found incredible value comes from focusing on brands that I believe in. I don’t want to be backed by products and brands that I don’t use. I don’t want to wash away the blood, sweat, and tears I poured into this sport with random brand names and influence. I want to continue to surround myself with companies that desire involvement in the fitness community. I am not just asking for money then immediately leaving. I want to join forces with your teams. I want to be an ambassador for your brand and affiliate for your mission.
THE JOURNEY TO IRONMAN STARTS HERE
THE JOURNEY TO IRONMAN STARTS HERE
This isn’t just about fitness — it’s about reclaiming life, one step at a time. CT’s transformation is proof that real change begins with a single decision and grows through relentless effort.
Always Bigger
I’ve always been a big person—full of energy, full of presence, and physically larger than most. But over time, that size began to weigh on me in more ways than one.
Losing Control
By 2013, I was on a destructive path. I ignored the warning signs and leaned into habits that were slowly breaking me down, mentally and physically.
Hitting the Limit
On New Year’s Day 2021, I weighed 503 pounds. That number hit me hard. My doctor agreed—something had to change, and it had to happen fast.
The Hard Way Forward
I passed on surgery. Instead, I chose to face the pain head-on. If I wanted out, I had to walk through it—step by step, on my own terms.
HOW A DAILY WALK TURNED INTO A NEW LIFE
So, I literally started walking every day. I began to focus on my diet. In May of ‘21, I signed up for a local 5K with the hopes of finding healthier friends. My first new friends were Kathy and Kerri, a mother/daughter duo who lived nearby. They were essential in my initial growth. I also found a neighbor, Chris, who was an ultra-marathoner. I used my Instagram account to find local runners for inspiration, and that’s where I found Whitney. The last person to round out my initial group was my friend, Ashley, who challenged me to do a 5k every day of March.
THE JOURNEY IS BUILT ONE STEP AT A TIME
Every phase of growth came with its own lesson. Some days brought wins, others brought setbacks—but each one moved me forward. Here's a look at the milestones that shaped my path.
As I pushed myself, the changes started showing. My 5K times were improving, and I became a familiar face walking through the neighborhood. I was loving the progress.
I started testing my limits—trying new workouts, learning to swim, and stepping outside my comfort zone. It was terrifying, but also thrilling.
Beyond the physical changes, I noticed mental shifts—more energy, better sleep, and stronger discipline. I wasn’t just training my body—I was rebuilding my mindset.
Injuries, doubts, and off-days hit hard. But I learned that progress isn’t always a straight line. Rest became part of the plan, not a failure.
Losing weight meant shedding more than pounds. I let go of old habits, outdated mindsets, and even a few friendships that no longer aligned. It was heavy—but freeing.
EVERY STEP
FORWARD COUNTS
Progress isn’t made overnight—it’s built one moment, one habit, one breakthrough at a time. These stories reflect the mindset it takes to keep showing up.
Keep Moving Forward
There was only one thing to do: keep pushing forward. Finding a bike that could handle my size wasn’t easy, but I eventually discovered Zize Bikes. Their Yonder model could support up to 550 pounds—exactly what I needed.
Finding Freedom
There were some bumps along the way, but the moment I got riding, I felt free. The speed, the movement, the independence—it lit something up in me. That’s when my neighbor, Chris, threw out a challenge: “Do a triathlon.” I laughed. No way.
Taking the Leap
But something changed. I signed up for the 2023 St. Anthony’s Sprint Triathlon. I started swimming by the pier with Leo Briceno and slowly met a crew of open water swimmers. At first, I didn’t feel like I belonged.
Fitting In
Then I found a brand that made tri suits for larger athletes—Fat Lad at the Back. Their “Spare Tyre” line was perfect. I squeezed into one and jumped in. Just like that, I was officially part of the swim crew in St. Pete.
FINDING STRENGTH IN CHANGE
Another big change I made in 2023 was that I started exploring sobriety. Beer was a symbiotic part of my life. I had been drinking hard for nearly two decades. It was part of my identity. I had no idea what I would be without beer, chugs, and brewery tours. But in 2023, I decided to find out. I had created a ritual around my races of a post-race beer shotgun. So, as I was selectively sober, I needed an alternative. That was when I met the crew at Herban Flow. They had plenty of nonalcoholic beers, so I decided to try those. After a couple races, they approached me in the store and asked about sponsorship. I had no idea what that meant, but we started the conversation.
My sisters came to support my first triathlon, and their presence was a necessary boon. In addition to their support, some of my new crew showed up to cheer me on. But even more notably, “The Whitney Dancaster,” a running influencer extraordinaire, came to cheer me on. I was blown away by this support. Even though the swim was cancelled, I was beyond proud to complete my first Duathlon. This race flicked a spark into the engine deep inside me. I had to complete a triathlon. I wanted to be a triathlete.
Life-Defining Sponsorships
A Better Vision For The Future
As 2023 came to an end, I knew I needed to use this momentum to build something tangible. I could not just squander this. I made tangible and achievable goals for 2024 like to get another sponsor and to RUN my first mile in over a dozen years. I am happy to say I have run that mile, and I have gotten two new sponsors.
